The last few days we have just spent relaxing.  We spent two days at Cane Garden Bay.  Tristan and Tessa met some kids there and had a great time one evening playing hide and seek.   One little girl, that Tessa was playing with, ending up eating dinner with us.  Her aunt came over and was talking to us.  Her aunt and the little girl’s mom were originally from Chicago and use to spend some time in Kankakee (the area Dan and I grew up in).  Small world.

Today we went to the Baths at Virgin Gorda.

The Baths are these huge granite boulders stacked on top of each other.  The way the boulders are stacked, it creates caves, and crevices, which you walk through as part of the trail.  The water rushes in between the rocks too, making small swimming pools.  The rocks make for great climbing.  The trail ends on a beautiful beach called Devils

Bay, one of my favorites.  Tessa decided it would be fun if we brought a picnic lunch, so I packed some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, pretzels and drinks, and after our climb through the rocks we ate on the beach.  An unexpected surprise was the aggressive chickens on the beach.  As soon as we started our sandwiches, this colorful rooster and a hen, slowly started toward us.  I didn’t think much of it until I looked up and they were within a foot of me.  Tessa scared them off, but about 5 minutes later they were back.   They weren’t afraid of us and were determined to get a bite.  I threw some crust as far into the bushes as I could but they came back.  So much for our relaxing picnic!
