Another day of more wind and waves. We haven’t gotten as much rain though. We were able to get out for a walk this morning. There is still a big surge into the harbor, so there is not a lot we can do around the boat. We are getting anxious to leave. Hopefully this coming weekend! For now, more sitting, more Halloween decorations (that’s getting old) and more sitting around. We are out of new books. I only hope the storm lets up before I eat all the Halloween candy!
More rain, more wind, more waves. The storm was really bad last night. When Dan went out this morning, there was a tree and a pig’s head floating next to our boat. A pig’s head! What a sight! I asked him if he saw Tessa’s comforter and he said no. Rats! We have a big surge into the marina, and sometimes it can make it hard to walk on the boat. So we spend a lot of time sitting.
We spent the day doing nothing. It rained all day so we couldn’t even get off the boat for a walk. We made more Halloween decorations and then spent the rest of the evening playing games. Dan and I finished the evening off watching a marathon session of the second season of “24”. It was a really good day though. The kids had fun and so did we. Sometimes you need those days of just doing nothing.
I am not sure when this will let up. According to the weather we are in for several more days of this stuff!!
Bad storm last night and continuing into today. I can’t believe how much rain we’ve gotten! This morning the waves are almost coming over the seawall. Two boats came in, one a fishing boat, and the other a trawler coming from Cuba. They said the waves were over 15 feet. They looked exhausted! Between rainshowers, we took a walk down to the beach. The waves were really crashing on the reef. We just hung around the boat the rest of the day, working on Halloween stories.
A major mistake on my part. Tessa’s window was open last night when it rained and her comforter got wet. When the rain and wind calmed down, I put it on the line, secured with several clothespins. I kept a good eye on it, and it seemed fine. Then the wind got up and when I went to check on it……. “Comforter No More!” I can’t believe it!! I looked all over the boat for it but it was gone. I didn’t break the news to Tessa yet. That is not a conversation I am anxious to have!!!
